Michael Laughlin is an artist working in both digital media and the tradition of classical portraiture. He is accomplished in painting, drawing and digital media.

These artworks deconstruct how our culture consumes imagery by blending iconography within layers upon layers of line, shape, color and rhythm. Its intention is to provoke the viewer to seek out what is familiar yet veiled by the dissonance of a saturated visual culture. It invites the viewer to engage with displaced, fragmented yet inviting visual stimuli. They are mimetic of the visceral discord resulting from an absence of constancy.

Michael's artwork addresses issues of visual culture, entropy and metamodernism. Each work presents an oscillating narrative exploring cynicism and sincerity, apathy and empathy. His artwork is a deliberation of human observations and interactions.
